Why Join

Dual language immersion programs are designed to help students become bilingual, biliterate, and culturally competent. But strong outcomes do not happen by accident.

This book club gives educators and leaders time, structure, and community to think deeply about what it takes to protect the partner language, increase student language production, reduce redundancy, teach language intentionally, provide meaningful feedback, and monitor progress in ways that reflect what we truly value.

By the end of the summer, you’ll leave with a clearer understanding of the six practices and specific action steps you can take to strengthen partner language development in your own context.

Outcome 1

Have a better understanding of the six practices outlined in the book.

Outcome 2

Identify practical action steps to strengthen partner language development in your classrooms and schools.

Outcome 3

Walk away with strategies you can immediately implement to support stronger bilingualism and biliteracy outcomes.

Outcome 4

Connect and collaborate with a community of DLI educators committed to a shared vision for higher levels of bilingualism and biliteracy.

Perfect For Individuals Or Teams

Join on your own, or invite your grade-level team, school leadership team, or district DLI team to participate together.

This is a meaningful summer professional learning opportunity for teams who want to build shared language, shared understanding, and shared commitment around stronger dual language implementation.
